I need your help!

I need your help!

As a “PR Professional” I ought to be a seasoned regular & successful blogger. I’m not.

I preach to my clients about how important blogging can be in increasing and maintaining their online presence, the wonders it does for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation – or how well your website/fb profile/internet persona performs in google (and other search engine) searches – how it is a fab way of ‘letting people in’ & building relationships with your customer or client base, yet still I do not do it…

I’ll let you all into a little secret – my life is NOT exciting. I don’t get invited to fancy parties, I definitely don’t spend weeks on holiday in tropical climates, my husband isn’t a rock star, my horses will never be top level, my house certainly isn’t a show room and my parenting skills leave a lot to be desired. I’m just me. Plain old boring me. Don’t get me wrong, I have a wonderful little life with my boys but it certainly isn’t in any way vaguely interesting enough to warrant telling people about and although my amazing clients are constantly achieving incredible things, those are for them to tell the world about not me, or so I used to assume…

After talking to a number of people, seeking advice from those in the know, reading blogging bibles and a lot, and I mean A LOT, of soul searching I’ve decided to give it another, no pressure, go and if lovely people (just like you) are interested in reading what I have to write, then that is a huge, massive cake-shaped bonus!

One thing that really stuck out for me and I suppose probably forced me to re-evaluate what I thought about myself & blogging was something Vicki Psaris said. Vicki is one of the UK’s most successful ‘Mummy Bloggers’ and founder of the multi-award winning parenting lifestyle blog, Honest Mum® (which remains one of the biggest in the world to date). When asked by “The Million Dollar Blog” author, Natasha Courtenay-Smith for the one piece of advice she would give to anyone thinking about giving blogging a go, Vicki answered, “anyone can start blogging…write what you yourself want to read – and simply GO FOR IT.”

This is going to take some getting used to…

I still GENUINELY don’t believe that anyone will read, enjoy or benefit in any way from my ramblings so even starting this post was tricky! But if you have read this or any of my earlier musings (published months ago) thank you & I’d love for you to stick with me, maybe you could help me to figure this whole “blogging as little old me” thing out, one post at a time.
